Alaska Wild Berry Products in Anchorage, Alaska is home to the World’s Largest Chocolate Waterfall, a 20-foot spectacle designed by Homer artist Mike Sirl. The waterfall incorporates over 3000 pounds of chocolate, authentic copper candy kettles, and a specially built warming and mixing system, setting the world record for being the largest chocolate waterfall, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY. The store originally opened in 1946 by Kenneth and Hazel Heath, who began making jams and jellies from Alaskan berries, and is known for creating and selling a variety of delicious sweets, including chocolate and fudge. The chocolate pours out of the fountain head, cascades down copper kettles, and settles in a swirling pool of pure candy. There is plenty to see and do for visitors, who can take a self-guided candy-kitchen tour and try some free samples while also purchasing a variety of Alaskan products and unique gift items.
The store, park, and theater are open seven days a week all year except for New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. While the chocolate waterfall is a visual display only, there is plenty of other chocolate and candy for purchase at the store. The store offers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages, ensuring it is a must-see destination in Anchorage.
