Alaska Energy Metals Acquires Exploration Data from Cobalt, Boosting Prospects for Nickel Project

Vancouver, British Columbia, November 28, 2023 (Globe Newswire) – Alaska Energy Metals Corporation (TSX-V: AEMC, OTCQB: AEMMF) announced today the declaration of its partial sale, having acquired exploration data from a subsidiary of Cobalt Metals Corporation (“Cobalt”). The latter is an exploration and mining company in Silicon Valley known for its innovative use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in mineral exploration. The data pertains to Cobalt’s Skolai Project (depicted in Figure 1), situated near AEMC’s Nikolai Nickel Project in the interior Alaska region.

The President and CEO of Alaska Energy Metals Corporation stated, “We are pleased to capitalize on the extensive exploration data acquired earlier this year. Cobalt claims to be a neighbor to our Nikolai Nickel Project, and we trust that they will make good use of the data. Furthermore, they should expedite their exploration efforts with it. We congratulate Cobalt on their success in discovering magmatic nickel-copper sulfide deposits in the emerging nickel district, which we believe will benefit Alaska Energy Metals and the state of Alaska in general.”

Earlier this year, Alaska Energy Metals obtained a comprehensive data package prepared by former explorers in the region, some of which is now relevant to Cobalt’s claims. AEMC sold the pertinent data to KoBold for US$175,000. The data is clipped to the boundaries of Cobalt’s Skolai claims and includes:

  • Rock sample assay results (>1,000 samples)
  • Soil sample assay results (>2,300 samples)
  • Stream sediment sample assay results (>250 samples)
  • Drill core assay results and core logs (13 drill holes)
  • ZTEM and VTEM airborne geophysics
  • Geological mapping

Daniel Anderson, Chief Strategy Officer of KoBold Metals, commented, “We appreciate Alaska Energy Metals Corporation for completing this data acquisition to advance our work on the Skolai Nickel Project alongside their Nikolai Nickel Project. In a similar fashion, we wish success to Alaska Energy Metals in their magmatic nickel-copper sulfide discovery efforts on their Nikolai Nickel Project.”
