Alaska Airlines has announced a new partnership with Porter Airlines, adding to its extensive network of airline partners. The new agreement will allow Alaska Airlines customers to book flights on certain Porter Airlines flights through Alaska’s booking channels. Mileage Plan members will also be able to earn miles on these flights. Customers booking through Porter’s website will also have the option to book itineraries that include connections to a variety of cities in Alaska’s West Coast network.
The partnership is set to expand in the future to include shared Canadian airports and reciprocal mileage earning and redemption opportunities for loyalty members. This means that Mileage Plan members will have new connections to Canada and more travel options to choose from. As Porter Airlines continues to expand its fleet of Embraer E195-E2 jets, it is also expected to grow its U.S. route map, offering even more options for Alaska loyalists.
Porter Airlines, known for its top-notch inflight service and amenities, is rapidly expanding its East Coast service and plans to continue expanding westward. In January, Porter will begin service from Toronto Pearson Airport to Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco International Airport, both of which are key Alaska operating bases.
The arrangement will initially allow customers to book single itineraries featuring seamless connections between the two carriers, providing a more convenient travel experience. Later in 2024, the partnership will expand to include reciprocal benefits for elite members of the two airlines’ loyalty programs, further enhancing the travel experience for Alaska loyalists.
Overall, the new partnership between Alaska Airlines and Porter Airlines will provide Mileage Plan members with increased access to Canada on a fast-growing airline. Combined with Alaska’s other partner airlines, there are plenty of connectivity options available for Alaska loyalists.
